Squash

Your Support Matters

The primary goal of the Men’s and Women’s Squash program is to provide the best student-athlete experience both on and off the court. We work to create a positive and inclusive culture that focuses on developing the student as an athlete, a scholar and a member of the community. Our aim is that the young men and women that are part of our program today, will go on to be great leaders tomorrow. Your support will have a direct impact on their success as student-athletes and on the program.

OUA Varsity teams at the University of Guelph receive base funding from the Department of Athletics to cover costs such as league fees, officiating and some travel. We rely on student-athlete fees and fundraising to meet the rest of our program needs. To minimize the financial burden on our student-athletes, Men’s and Women’s Squash has set a goal to raise $3000 annually to offset costs that are essential to the success of our program.

  • Offset the cost of travel and accommodations ($2000)
  • Provide post-game meals while on the road ($500)
  • Purchase balls and other training equipment ($500)

About Squash

The men’s squash team was established in 2012 by former coach Chris Muirhead. The women’s squash team was later added in 2018 by current coach Alex Nolan and former women’s captain Lexie Reed. Both teams have quickly risen through the rankings, achieving results as high as 4th (men) and 5th (women). The Guelph Squash program has established itself as a consistent competitor in the OUA championships and continue to strive towards a podium finish. The Men’s and Women’s Squash Teams are also known for being one of the most supportive and collaborative teams with an extremely exciting and enjoyable atmosphere both on and off the court.
