Your Support Matters
The primary goal of the Baseball program is to provide the best student-athlete experience both on and off the diamond. We work to create a positive and inclusive culture that focuses on developing students as athletes, scholars and members of the community. Our aim is that the young men who are part of our program today, will go on to be great leaders tomorrow. Your support will have a direct impact on their success as student-athletes and on the program.
OUA Varsity teams at the University of Guelph receive base funding from the Department of Athletics to cover costs of our OUA competition, some equipment and travel. We rely on student-athlete fees and fundraising to meet the rest of our program needs. To minimize the financial burden on our student-athletes, the Baseball team has set a goal to raise $25,000 annually to offset costs that are essential to the success of our program.
Make an Impact
You are so important to the success of the Baseball program! Your donation will be used to:
- Purchase uniforms and hats for incoming players ($6,000)
- Provide clubhouse meals between double headers ($3,000)
- Provide access to specific winter/ off season conditioning – rental of indoor facilities such as PPA Hithouse ($6,000)
- Purchase balls, training supplies, game analytics and other necessary equipment ($6000)
- Provide supplemental support with travel expenses for non-conference games ($4000)
About Baseball
The Baseball team began play in the mid 1990’s and were one of the initial teams in the OUA in 2001. Over the years the team has enjoyed some success, including winning the inaugural Canadian National University Baseball Championship in 2019-2020. In the 2024 season, the team won silver at the Championships and plan to remain one of the strongest programs in the OUA.
