Your Support Matters
The Women’s Volleyball program’s goal is to provide the best student-athlete experience both on and off the court. We work to create a positive and inclusive culture that focuses on developing the student as an athlete, a scholar and a member of the community. Our aim is that the athletes that are part of our program today, will go on to be great leaders tomorrow. Your support will have a direct impact on their success as student-athletes and on the program.
The Department of Athletics covers most of our day-to-day operational expenses, but we rely on student-athlete fees and fundraising to meet the rest of our program’s needs. To minimize the financial burden on our student-athletes, Women’s Volleyball has set a goal to raise $21,000 annually to offset costs associated with enhancing our student-athlete experience year after year.

About Women’s Volleyball
The Gryphon Women’s Volleyball team has continuously produced a competitive OUA program. Their most recent top 3 team was a bronze medal finish in 2019-20, a team that featured Jr. Gryphons club alumni Lisa Wedel, Cass Collins & Ashley Vang. The Gryphons have previously been OUA silver medalists in 1999-2000, 2003-04, 2010-11 and bronze medalists in 1997-98 & 2003-04. The Covid pandemic hit the women’s volleyball program hard, wiping out the entire 2020-21 season that would have seen a veteran and playoff experienced squad take the floor. Parts of the 2021-22 season were impacted as well. Over the past 2 seasons, the women’s volleyball team has been slowly building a core of talent that should soon return to challenging for the OUA championship!
