Your Support Matters
The primary goal of the Men’s Lacrosse program is to provide the best student-athlete experience both on and off the field. We work to create a positive and inclusive culture that focuses on developing the student as an athlete, a scholar and a member of the community. Our aim is that the young men that are part of our program today, will go on to be great leaders tomorrow. Your support will have a direct impact on their success as student-athletes and on the program.
OUA Varsity teams at the University of Guelph receive base funding from the Department of Athletics that covers costs such as league fees, officiating and some travel. We rely on student-athlete fees and fundraising to meet the rest of our program needs. To minimize the financial burden on our student-athletes, Men’s Lacrosse has set a goal to raise $36,000 this year, to offset costs that are essential to the success of our program.

About Men’s Lacrosse
The Gryphon Men’s Lacrosse team has a long history of success. Established in 1988, the program won its first national championship, the Baggataway Cup, in 1995. Since then, the team has gone on to win 5 more titles, in 2000, 2008, 2013, 2014…AND…2025! In June 2022, the 1995 team was inducted into the Guelph Gryphon Hall of Fame, honouring the program’s first title. Over 200 Gryphons, coaches and staff are alumni of the program.
Each year, the team’s competitive goal is to win the Baggataway Cup. The 2025 season was a special one for our program. With one of the best Gryphon teams ever assembled, and likely one of the best teams in the 40 year history of the league, the team finished the season with a 12-1 record and captured the team’s 6th Baggataway Cup, National Championship!
